My Story

I am taking part in this virtual Kiltwalk ro raise money for THE SOKO FUND-a Scottish based charity that enables women to study for vocational degrees (nursing teaching etc) in MALAWI. Soko students and graduates have been very directly affected by the Pandemic- (the Universities are closed, e.g.) but I am especially inspired to do something special , because of their positive, practical, and optimistic approach to the many and various challenges they are currently facing (see www.thesokofund.org.) So...I will be riding my bike over CAIRN O'MOUNT (47.6 miles, climbing to 445 metres!),hoping to raise at least that amount (£445).
-UPDATE- delighted to say the inital goal has been reached already. Now I am really hoping we can make £750- that's the approximate cost of one years undergraduate study for a student in Malawi. With Kiltwalk doubling, that would be two years, with some gift aid for subsistence, IT etc. That would be a real spur to my climb (now scheduled for 18/09)
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about The Kiltwalk, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot-and WILL make a real difference to the future of another cohort of Soko graduates, and so to Malawi itself!

Thank You
